Year 2 Wildlife Trust Project

11th March 2016
On Friday 11th March we welcomed two visitors from the Wildlife Trust to Eastlea.  They spent an hour with Year 2 in the morning explaining a project being launched in the local area which will seek to reduce the pollution in the nearly Horton Burn.

The children found out about local habitats and the creatures that live in and around the burn.  They were shocked to find out about the damage that can be caused by people putting harmful items down the drain and the impact that this can have on the local streams!

Two members of Year 2 are going to be join representatives from Northburn to complete this project in April when plaques are installed after the Easter holidays near Horton Burn.

Our visitors were delighted with the response of the children, some of whom showed off their super scientific knowledge!  Well done Year 2!
