Eastlea new library is opened!!

4th November 2014

Our refurbished school library was 'officially' opened today at a whole school assembly.  Mrs Barnes from the Schools Library Service and Mrs Oliver (Chair of Governors) were in attendance as Mrs Lister cut the ribbons!!

Our new librarians from Year 6 were also on hand to celebrate the event and 3 classes from KS2 had the chance to explore the library in more detail during the morning, finding out the different zones and how the books are arranged.  Nursery and Reception pupils have a designated Early Years zone with doughnut cushions to take outside in the warmer weather.  Upper key stage 2 have a fabulous 'imagine' and 'enjoy' reading den with jazzy beanbags and a good selection of fiction books to explore!

Mrs Lister has put a tremendous amount of work  into coordinating this redecoration which started many months ago!  We are all delighted with the results and know that our updated library is a place that pupils from across the school can now use and enjoy!!
