Outer Space Reading Challenge Launch!

2nd October 2015
On Friday 2nd October we launched our next reading challenge - this year we have named it 'OUTER SPACE READING CHALLENGE'!!  This gave us our theme for a fun dress up day - and Eastlea was filled with aliens, astronauts, martians, Star Wars and Toy Story characters as well as Dr Whos and Men in Black!!  Take a look at the photos in the gallery to see what we looked like!

Year 4 led a class assembly which was 'out of this world' and we did an action launch countdown to get things started in style!  The outer space planets display was unveiled and each class has a different coloured planet in the hall ready for the 'faces' of the bronze, silver and gold award winners.

Space cakes were provided for KS1 at break time and Year 2 tried their very own real space food - yum yum!!

At lunchtime the cooks had made some super space themed puddings and the edible glitter icing was a big hit with everyone - thank you!

From 2pm we had a superb turnout of parents, grandparents, carers and other family members who came to support children to get started on their bronze reading challenge bookmark.

Another very successful day - thank you to everyone for their support in making costumes and visiting school!

HAPPY READING!!
