Hula hooping was enjoyed by every year group on our Sport Relief Day...
Part of our Sport Relief Day involved planting trees near the local playing fields.
Councillors Christine and Norman Dunbar were on hand to help the children an rewarded them with medals and bubbles at the end of the day!

We loved our 'cosy' World Book Day - with a book at bedtime theme!
Our Year 6 hockey team played well at the school games tournament!
Year 5 and Year 6 went on a new visit to explore Newcastle - the quayside and the Laing art gallery.
Well done to Year 3 - they had a fantastic morning at their Hula Hooping festival.

Year 2 came back with big smiles from their visit to the castle at Newcastle as part of their class topic work!
We had a red/pink theme for our Valentine's Golden Day on 14th February...
...we all tried lots of activities, including some Year 6 cake baking!
Our first fish have now been added to the Year 2 tank - we got them from Dobbies garden centre.

We were pleased to support Cramlington's 'Denim for Dementia' day...coordinated by the Town Mayor, Loraine de Simone.
Loraine came to talk to the children earlier in the week to explain how important the funds would be to the Alzheimer's Society.

Our Early Years performed 'C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S' spells Christmas.
Year 1 and Year 2 sang their hearts out in the KS1 performance of "A mid-wife crisis".
Year 5 took the lead in the KS2 production..."Are we nearly there yet?"

Year 1 and 2 had the opportunity of seeing a free film at the Vue cinema this week - just as Year 3&4 had done the week before! Great fun!
Children from Year 1 up to Year 5 enjoyed a Gymnastics taster session on Wednesday this week - some stars of the future I think!!
Year 6 made and sold poppy biscuits as part of their for Remembrance Day work - all funds went to the Royal British Legion.
Our 3 'sporting stars' represented Eastlea brilliantly at the celebration event at St James' Park! There are photos in the gallery!
16 Y6 pupils had a 'one off experience' of collecting trolleys and refreshments for our Golden Day...
...after superb teamwork and determination the trolleys were wheeled safely to Eastlea ready to be transformed for our parade!
...the transformation was complete by lunchtime on Golden Day! WELL DONE!

Nursery and Reception was the first of our Active October Enterprise events...

Year 3 and Year 4 did their cycling, walking or scootering in the local park!

Well done to our Reception and KS1 Street Dance club who met this half term every week for some energetic routines!

Our skateboarding workshop was a good start for our ACTIVE OCTOBER activities month! We all learned some new skills.
The Jiu-jitsu taster sessions were a great success - many children have joined the local club as a result - well done!
What a super day we had for our Rock Stars and Computer themed dress up day to launch our reading and maths challenges!

The Dance Academy featured 2 Eastlea pupils as well - they performed 2 dances during the show.

Year 6 became 'real scientists' at a transition workshop at the CLV - they had a great time!

Year 5 had a cycle speedway challenge on 21st June!
By the end of the session everyone who rode the bikes was doing so with more confidence and a real sense of achievement!
