Harvest Festival at St Nicholas' Church

12th October 2015
On Monday 12th October everyone at Eastlea from Reception to Year 6 walked up to St Nicholas' Church in Cramlington to celebrate our Harvest Festival.  This year the theme for our Harvest was to support the important work of the Cramlington Foodbank which is a joint project run by churches and volunteers across the town.  Revd Steve came into school last week to talk about the Foodbank and pupils were encouraged to bring an item of food into school ready for the festival.

We were delighted with the response and must thank parents/carers/families for their generosity.  We had a whole 'pile' of items for Revd Steve and we know they are going to be put to good use for families in need locally.

At our Harvest festival service we sang 4 of our favourite hymns and pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 shared radings and prayers with everyone in church.  The congregation included lots of parents, younger siblings, governors and families.  A very happy occasion - thank you for your support!
