Our Golden Day had different themes across the school depending on the age of the children and their topic work in class.
Nursery focused on NURSERY RHYMES and stories...
We were lucky to have a visit from a super puppet storyteller...thank you!
Reception joined Year 1 and Year 2 to focus on Valentine's day. They dressed in items of red or pink...
...and enjoyed some disco dancing in the hall during the afternoon.
Year 1 enjoyed their treasure hunt - and thankfully the wind died down to make it possible!!
The heart themed designs were used to decorate the hall at lunchtime and for the disco.
The Year 2 tasty treat making was popular!
Year 3 visited EGYPT on their Golden Day...
The 'tourists' certainly had a great time!
Making 'natron' for the mummification process!!
Tasting dates and other foods provoked a mixed reaction!!
The sour dough amulets were amazing!
...the 3D models of the River Nile involved lots of teamwork and discussion.
Year 4 were tourists on a European cruise...calling at various places...including Portugal
...Italy for pizza and ice cream.
...and Spain where fans were made.
Year 5 focused on FRANCE.
The breakfast in a 'French cafe' was a big hit!
Building a cardboard model of the Eiffel Tower was more challenging!!
Playing boules was great fun.
...and the day ended with French bread and cheese!
Year 6's theme was the rain forests of BRAZIL.
The tropical fruit smoothies went down well!
...and individual biodomes were created.
Festival mask making was the focus in the afternoon.
They turned out brilliantly - well done Year 6!
A great Golden Day to end the half term! THANK YOU!
