Eastlea won a LOVE Northumberland award for 2017-18. We went to Alnwick Gardens for the presentation and met the Duchess of Northumberland.
Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a Tour de France workshop led by Mme Taylor - it involved a SLOW bike race!!
Year 2 did a project to help celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS.
Their poetry and art work is in pride of place in Cramlington hospital and looks fantastic!!
Years 1&2 had a tasty indian meal at Lal Qila - provided free by the owners of the restaurant - thank you!
Year 1 enjoyed themselves on their visit to the Rising Sun Country Park - and tried lots of different activities.
We had a lovely fine day and great fun on Sports Day. Thank you to everyone who attended and well done to the BLUE team - this year's winners!
Year 2 had a sunny (but very windy!) day at St Mary's Lighthouse!
Our cycling club restarted in the summer term ...
...their first visit was to East Hartford.
Our Music Play Day event at CLV was great fun - we took part in percussion workshops...
...or were part of the vocal group! Well done to all!
We raised £320 at our summer fundraising disco - to help with our plans to improve the front entrance area of the school.
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Segedunum. They learned a great deal about the Romans.
Our May Golden Day had a 'medley' of themes - pirates, secret agents, Romans, Vikings, Ancient Greece and Brazil!
Our pirates had to search for treasure...
...and also had to 'walk the plank'!
A large group of pupils, parents, staff and ex pupils/families took part in the annual Children's Cancer Run.
To celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle our cook prepared cupcakes for pudding with union jack flags! Thank you!
Our outside reading area is proving popular at breaks and lunchtimes - its great to enjoy books in the sunshine!

This was our Easter garden - thank you to Year 1!
We completed a 'muddy' Sport Relief mile, 6 laps of the school field, on the morning of Friday 23rd March.
Year 5 performed their skip dance routine for the whole school on the yard to launch our special sporting day!
Thanks to the support of local sports coaches and our Year 5/6 Brainwaves we tried lots of different sports in the afternoon.
We all took part in the 'Jump rope for Heart' skipping challenge too!
Our Year 6 hockey team were semi-finalists at the school games competition - well done!
Congratulations to our SPRING TERM MATHS AWARD winners - one from each class!
We also presented certificates to our Maths Ninja champions - for showing determination with their times tables and making super progress!

Our World Book Day had a 'book at bedtime theme'!
Everyone came to school in their pyjamas and brought a favourite book with them to share.
The older pupils read with the younger children in the library and they loved sharing the stories.
Look at the icicles - this was the scene this weekend after 3 frustrating days 'closed for snow'!
The eaves next to the offices were full of icicles...
Some were about a metre in length!
Thanks to the school grounds snow ploughs the playground has been cleared and should be all set for our return on Monday 5th March.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 'bun day' treat and raised £115.02 for the Jessica Sarcoma Awareness charity!

Nathalie brought her famous Bibliobus to Eastlea and we learned some French stories...
...and Early Years visited Home Bargains to buy what they needed for their afternoon activities!
Our Year 4 gymnastics team showed great determination and skill in their competition.
Author Ross Welford was a big hit with the Year 6 who met him at CLV.

Number Day on 2nd February was a great success at Eastlea.
We enjoyed a number/shape/pattern themed dress up day...
...but also did lots of maths based tasks and activities.
The aim was to raise money for the NSPCC charity and also for extra maths resources in school!
Blue rocket group raised the most with our 20p smartie tube challenge! Well done!
Early Years had a visit from Paul, a police officer to tell them all about what he does to help us.
The children were very excited to 'drive' the real police car!!

'Peter Pan' was a fantastic show - we thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Golden Day!

The Eastlea KS2 Singing Club entertained residents at Hartford Court with carols and Christmas songs - well done!
Year 6 raised over £300 for their enterprise fund by carol singing at Sainsbury's and ASDA...
...and then bag packing at ASDA! Well done!
Our Christmas productions were a 'big hit' with the audiences! Plenty of photos in the gallery!
Mme Taylor led a workshop for Year 5 and Year 6 exploring French Christmas traditions.
Pupils completed a quiz, sang songs and also tasted some 'buche de noel'.... chocolate cake!!
