Our assembly was very exciting this morning with some children from every year group earning a gold balloon...
...a certificate and a gold music themed bookmark! Well done to them all!

We are again the very proud winners of a LOVE Northumberland award for Sustainable Travel.
The Duchess of Northumberland presented the award to two representatives from Brainwaves at a ceremony in Alnwick Garden.

Congratulations to blue rocket group who won the KS2 rounders competition.
All of Reception and KS1 took part in a multi-skills festival led by Year pupils - thank you!
Well done to the Green Rocket Group who won our sunny sports day this week...
...the trophy was presented to the team captain of by Miss Fox!
Reception had a great time at Whitehouse Farm...

Year 5 were also out and about at Blyth Battery...
...and the Victoria tunnel as part of their WW2 project.
Our Platinum Jubilee Street Party was a great success...everyone looked so colourful in their red, white and blue outfits.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Street Party despite the gusty wind!!
Owlets also enjoyed a super Platinum Jubilee 'street party' snack time in the school courtyard!
Food, cakes, flags, crowns, bunting and music...thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Golden Day...each child was given a red Santa sack to take home (thanks to Miss Beeston's friend Julian)!
The McDonalds Happy Meal went down well at lunchtime - thanks to the staff there for sorting out our huge order of 192 meals on time!
'Flash' gave 2 great socially distanced comedy magic show performances...and also thank you to the Foodbank for the selection boxes!

Our 'One Kind Word' friendship display i the hall looks very colourful!
Y3 thoroughly enjoyed their Stone Age Camp!
They made fires, made and cooked bread and in teams they created tepees.
Our Bike themed Golden Day started with an amazing whole school display from the BMX bike team.
Children from Year 2 upwards had the chance to develop their own skills of balance on their bikes during the day.
Every class enjoyed the tyre themed fitness sessions on the field...
...and Year 6 supported Reception by taking them on a wheels themed orienteering challenge!
ACTIVE OCTOBER started when Brainwaves became superheroes each morning to encourage everyone to walk/cycle to school.
Our Archery sessions ensured we were 'on target'for an active month!
Some classes enjoyed HOOPSTARZ workshops.
Our glow stick dance was a real 'hit'!
We loved our Be bright dress up day and the whole school walked around the field for a colourful daily mile!
Our Cramlington Foodbank collection was extremely well supported - thank you!
WEEK 3 of Active October featured a sponsored bike/hike, scooter event - which everyone joined in with!

Thank you to our Brainwaves who made and sold bike themed biscuits - fundraising for a balance bike for Nursery!
Well done to our new Year 4 violins 'progression group' led by Mrs Hedley. They are thoroughly enjoying their lessons!

Our Year 3 Gymnastic team were county finalists in the Northumberland School Games - wow!
We 'unveiled' our new reclaimed palyground equipment area this week - big thanks to Mrs Holdsworth and Chris all their hard work!
Some of the funds came from the Owlets and the children can't wait to try out all the new equipment.
A storytelling stage is also part of the new area - thanks to Mrs Lister.

We smashed our 'England does the Daily Mile' challenge too with 125 miles for EYFS/KS1 and 119 miles for KS2. WELL DONE!!
