Our STEM fortnight started well with an action packed week for all the children. Their enthusiasm for the different projects has been superb!
Bear brought the Rugby League Championship trophy to the school and some of our tag rugby players had their photo with it!

Year 6 went skiing at Silksworth this week - a pre-SATs treat after all their hard work! They had a fantastic time!
Our Easter Challenge Golden Day featured an obstacle course coordinated by Year 6...

Our before school Street Dance Club gave a performance for parents, staff and pupils - well done!
Red Watch Fire Fighters helped Year 2 to re-enact the Great Fire of London by setting fire to the model houses they had made!
Year 6 Sports Leaders did an extra training session with Mr Dowson - they now have lots more ideas for games and activities!

The 'FISH BOY' book caught the imagination of lots of the children - I wonder who will finish reading the story first?
We had a super fundraising day for COMIC RELIEF on 24th March. We raised over £250 by dressing in red, having a bun day and sharing jokes!

Our netball team invited Beaconhill to come and play matches on our court - it was lovely to see the two school teams playing so well!
Our World Book Day had a 'book at bedtime' theme which involved us all coming into school wearing pyjamas and bringing our favourite stories.

Our KS2 singing club went to sing carols at Hartford Court Care Home on Tuesday 13th December. They sang beautifully!
Year 6 went to ASDA to sing carols and also did a 'bag pack' for their Enterprise Fund. Thank you to everyone who donated!
Our Christmas performances were excellent... Early Years did a lovely version of 'Whoops-a-daisy Angel', KS1 performed a 'Midwife Crisis'...
...and KS2 presented a super performance of 'The Christmas Code'. Well done to all!

Year 6 prepared a fantastic 'Festive Lunch' for their parents and governors on Tuesday 29th November. They were very proud of themselves!
We had an entertaining evening watching the Newcastle Eagles basketball game on 18th November. Our school team reached the semi-finals too!!

Year 1 and Year 2 were treated to a a lovely indian meal at Lal Qila restaurant on Tuesday 8th November. They tried lots of different foods!
Year 2 took part in a Multi-skills sports festival on Thursday 3rd November. 12 of our Year 6 Sports Leaders also helped to 'run' the event!

Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 went to the Vue cinema and enjoyed an 'Eastlea only' showing of the new Storks film! A great Golden Day!!
We had a real treat on Thursday 13th October when Year 6 had a full day 'Play in a day' drama workshop. We had some super Y6 actors!

Mrs Buxton came to our Harvest festival as the rain prevented us from going to church. She told us about how the Foodbank parcels are used.
We were delighted to receive all the tins, jars and packets of food for the Cramlington foodbank. These were just SOME of them - thank you!

Year 3 took part in a hula hoop festival at Blyth on Friday 7th October. Eastlea won both the pupil and staff 'hoopstar' awards - fantastic!!
On Thursday 6th October Year 4 went to CLV for a rugby festival. They learned some new skills and played lots of games!
On 4th October Year 4 visited Northumberlandia for a science themed educational visit. They helped to plant bluebells ready for spring!
On Tuesday 4th October 12 of our KS2 pupils were chosen to represent Eastlea in the cross country championships. They all did really well!
On Friday 30th September we launched our new reading challenge. This year it has an 'AROUND THE UK' theme!
We dressed as tourists in red, white and blue and had a super time. In the afternoon parents came to share books with their child!
Thank you to the Rotary Club who presented illustrated dictionaries to our Year 4 pupils!
