Welcome to the year 2 page

Reading
The children will read individually at school in the first half of the week. They will then bring this book home for additional practice. Please write a comment or sign your child's reading record book so that we know they have read at home. If your child has read at home then their book will be changed on a Friday for weekend reading.

Spellings
The children will be given spellings to practice at home, but won't have a spelling test, as they have in the past. Spellings will be given out at the beginning of the week and will be checked at school fortnightly as part of our literacy work.

Maths Homework
Maths homework will normally be given out on a Monday, to be returned to school on a Friday.

Additional Homework
As the term goes on the children may also have other small pieces of homework to complete. After Christmas, the children will have comprehension homework, which will be given out on a Friday, for return to school on the following Monday.

P.E. Days
The children have P.E on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Children will need their P.E. kit on these days.
